In industrial X-ray inspection solutions, the duty cycle of the imaging components is an essential parameter. The duty cycle of an X-ray tube is based on its general maintenance cycle and the lifetime of the filament. X-RAY WorX and Gulmay have teamed up to validate the impact of the newly developed filament supply for Gulmay’s UC high voltage generators on the lifetime of X-RAY WorX microfocus X-ray tubes.

X-ray resolution test charts of the Japanese association JIMA support manufacturers and operators of high-resolution X-ray systems in the periodic validation of image quality. Common areas of application are industrial radiography and high-resolution computed tomography. Currently, only two of the four JIMA resolution tests are available.

X-RAY WorX is improving the flexibility of its microfocus reflection tubes to support increasing requirements for fast computed tomography in several industries. With an optimized target design and the internal cooling, the new product line CT Plus allows continuous scanning at highest power and voltages up to 300 kV.

On November 27th, Indutrade AB (https://www.indutrade.com/) and X-RAY WorX GmbH signed an agreement with the intent to transfer all the shares of the company X-RAY WorX GmbH to the Swedish Indutrade AB. The agreement was signed after the market closed.

X-RAY WorX increased the maximum target power of its high resolution microfocus X-ray product line THE Plus to 80 watt. The transmission tubes cover a range of resolutions from 2 microns to 20 microns at up to 80 watt target power. The new version is optimized for inline computed tomography and laminographic applications with 100% quality testing in the production line.

Achieving the limits of resolution in nano X-ray inspection requires finding the most appropriate combination of X-ray detector and X-ray source. A joint project to explore the capabilities of their components was initiated by ADVACAM s.r.o from Prague and X-RAY WorX GmbH from Garbsen. The combination of ADVACAM’s photon counting WidePIX detectors with the submicron tube XWT-190-TCNF yielded a performance even below the tube’s nominal resolution of 0.5 microns.

Target cooling now available for highest resolution tubes with 225 kV and 240 kV
